If there is no sugar. What are other options?

Ingredients
Yams
Unsalted Butter (Margerine)
Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger and Allspice mix
Brown Sugar or the sweeter choice that fits you (See salt and sugar suggestions page)
This is just one way of doing this. Adjust to your desire.
Preparation
Step 1
Wash and peel yams.
Depending on the size place whole (if they are small) or cut up big yams in a pot of water.
Boil until soft.
Check with a fork to see if they are soft.
Step 2
Drain hot water carefully.
Add next ingredients into the pot. Or separate and do not smash half for later.
Step 3
Mix seasoning xxxxxxx.
Or just buy Apple Pie spice or Pumpkin spice powder. Easier
Step 4
While hot mix butter and spices to taste.
(Stop here for a no sugar side dish)
Add brown sugar to taste or honey.
Or the sugar substitute that matches what is good for you.
